These tasty beef burgers are great for the Whole30 Programme, 30 days of clean eating to reset the metabolism and assist in resetting the hormones.

 

I Used:

Beef Patties

250gm lean beef mince
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tbs organic dijon mustard
1/2 red onion very finely chopped
1 egg

Salad

Beetroot, finely grated
Carrot, finely grated
Avocado, sliced
Cucumber, diced
Lettuce

Making Beef Patties

Knead all ingredients together in a bowl until they are well mixed and sticky. Proteins like beef and egg need some kneading to bind them well. Put into the fridge for 10 mins while you prepare the salad.

Roll the mixture into balls around the size and thickness of the palm of your hand. Grill 5-7 mins each side (the cooking time will be longer for thick patties). Rest for 5 mins somewhere warm.

Making Salad

Place the lettuce in a pattern on the plate, I like to make my meals look as inviting as possible so I feel like I am eating in a restaurant! Sprinkle the avocado and  cucumber around the edge and place grated carrot in the centre.  Top with the beef patties and beetroot.

I squeezed a little lemon juice and olive oil over the top of the salad, but I usually use olive oil mayo. Olive Oil Mayo is delicious with this type of meal!
